Stonebwoy Really Part Ways With Beats Dakay? Days after the news went viral that multi-award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy and his longtime producer and hype man Beatz Dakay have parted ways on very unfriendly terms, the former has broken his silence over the allegations.
In a post on Facebook, the musician wrote, “For The Sake Of My Well Wishers And Fans, Those Who Deeply Love Me Without A Doubt, The Media And bloggers, I Decide To Speak… I Do NOT Have Any Issues With my Brother BeatzDakay.”
The statement comes amidst reports that the producer has been sacked from Stonebwoy‘s team after a disagreement over unsettled financial disputes. According to Flex Newspaper, Beatz Dakay demanded 20% of all gigs Stonebwoy would play because he did not charge him for the production. Stonebwoy, on the other hand, was only ready to give 5%.

The situation escalated when Stonebwoy set up his own studio in his house and started working with a young producer called Awaga, who Beatz Dakay trained. Despite setting up the studio for Stonebwoy in his house, Beatz Dakay has been ignored from using it. This led to Stonebwoy angrily breaking some glasses in Beatz Dakay’s studio and threatening to do more if he continued to worry about his peace with money.

However, Stonebwoy’s statement suggests that the issue was more to do with modes of operation than financial disputes. He said, “In recent times, a decision was made to redress certain modes of operation… communicating the development didn’t seem to go down well with my brother Beatzdakay which I took responsibility for.”
Stonebwoy’s statement is clear that he still holds Beatz Dakay in high regard, despite the circumstances leading to their split. He said, “We have been at this for a while, putting in the best of each other’s efforts, and I trust that Ghana and the world admire this bond between a beats producer and an artiste, which is still envied by many.”
