Kofi Kinaata Sets Two Records At VGMA 2020.
Highly revered highlife singer, Kofi Kinaata who is originally from the heart of Ghana, the Western region has made history at the Day 1 of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2020 which was organized virtually to reduce the widespread of the pandemic, Coronavirus.
Over the years, the talented rapper cum singer has won the hearts of the masses with his apt songwriting skills and compositions for which many music enthusiasts have touted him as the best lyrical genius among his generation.
The multiple awards winning artiste Kofi Kinaata is the first musician in the history of Ghana music award to win the prestigious songwriter of the year award on three occasions. This puts him ahead of Trigmatic and Okyeame Kwame who has won it twice. He is also the youngest winner of the said category.
He took to Facebook to congratulate himself on his win.
He first won the category in 2016 with his debut hit single Susuka which put him on the path of success. He released another monster anthem Confession in 2017 which also won the songwriter of the year. The year 2020 saw him release a lot of chart-topping songs but the most talked about is Things Fall Apart which earned the award on the night.
